Grade 3 Clicker Training Class

This is where we start to get more serious! By now you'll have a good handle on the clicker training method, ready to take your dog and your obedience training to the next level:

• Stand and Stand for examination
• Push-Ups
• Heel position and Heeling
• Eye contact with distractions
• Recall (away from rewards)
• Comefore (stationary, while walking)
• Fronts and Finishes
• Sit and Down Stays with distractions
• Random Eye Contact
• Figure of Eight
• Rounding
• Touching at a distance
• Weaving

Grade 3 classes are scheduled as numbers warrant, so call June to get your dog on the waiting list for the next session.

Advanced Obedience Training

Intermediate

This 8-week course not only challenges the dog with more exacting exercises, it trains you to become a good handler. At this level, we assume that you know the method of training, and now you have a chance to apply that technique. You will shape the exercises, breaking the behaviours down into small increments until you get the desired results:

• Heel position & attention
• Off Leash Heeling
• Heeling starts
• Heeling – slow, normal & fast
• Automatic sits
• Moving Left U turns, Right About turns
• Stationary Left, Right, and About turns
• Moving Left turns, Right turns
• Random Sits and Downs
• Formal and Informal Comefore
• Fronts and Finishes (both ways)
• Figure of Eight
• Sit and Stand for Examination
• Sit Stay and Down Stay with distractions
• 3-minute Sits and 5-minute Downs
• Recall and Drop on Recall
• All Signals
• Zigzag, Spirals, Circle Right & Left, and various heeling drills.

At the end of the Intermediate course, you will be prepared for the Novice level of obedience competition, where the dog can earn his Companion Dog title (CD).
